Whitepaper: What’s Wrong with DAST
How useful are scanners for discovering software vulnerabilities?

What’s Wrong with DAST

Dynamic Application Security Testing Tools or Scanners are good and useful instruments in the arsenal of security professionals. But how useful are they? Alas, most DAST tools have a serious coverage problem.

Legacy DAST solutions are only able to accurately detect:

  • The vulnerabilities that are well-known and/or listed in signature feeds.
  • Issues in legacy applications with well-known data formats.
  • Issues in applications that are “well behaved” and have few content exceptions.

Download the new Wallarm whitepaper with a detailed analysis of cases where existing DAST tools work and where they come short.
